2. What this policy covers

This policy covers bottegasoglia.com — this website — and the email address published on it.

Our products handle different kinds of information and each publishes its own privacy policy. If you are using or have bought a product, that product's policy is the one that describes what happens to your data. Section 5 tells you where to find them.

3. This website

This site has no accounts, no forms, and no sign-up. There is nothing here to submit, so we collect nothing from you directly.

One preference is stored in your own browser. If you switch between the light and dark theme, that choice is saved locally so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical connection data such as your IP address and browser type. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in serving the site and keeping it secure. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

There is no analytics on this site. We do not measure your visit, and nothing here profiles you.

4. When you email us

If you write to us, we hold your email address and whatever you put in your message, so that we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us — or, where your message is about something you have bought, performance of that contract.

Two providers handle that mail. Mail sent to our address is received by Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards it without keeping a copy, and delivered to a mailbox provided by Google. Both act as our processors.

You do not have to email us, and no law or contract obliges you to. But we cannot reply to a message that carries no address to reply to — that is the only consequence of not providing one.

We do not add you to a mailing list because you emailed us.

5. Where your data goes

The providers named above — Cloudflare and Google — are based in the United States. Using them means personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom.

Those transfers are made under safeguards that UK law recognises: the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider participates in it, and the Information Commissioner's International Data Transfer Addendum otherwise. Email us and we will tell you which applies to a given provider and provide a copy.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes.

6. Our products

  • Provaprivacy policy
  • Calibro — in development. A policy will be published before it is available to buy.
  • Cartografia — by application. Its policy is provided as part of the application process, and covers the information a reading requires.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to delete data we no longer need to hold;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable form;
  • withdraw consent, where we relied on consent;
  • complain to us, and separately to the Information Commissioner's Office (section 11).

To use any of these, email ciao@bottegasoglia.com. We will respond within one month.

8. How long we keep things

Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for the matter it concerns, and then deleted. Where a message relates to a purchase, we keep it as long as we are required to keep records of that transaction.

Retention for anything a product holds is set out in that product's own policy.

9. Automated decisions

Nothing on this website makes an automated decision about you, and nothing here profiles you.

Our products do use automated processing to produce the results you buy them for. Where that happens, the product's own policy describes it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page tells you when the current version took effect.

11. Contact and complaints

For anything about this policy, email ciao@bottegasoglia.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first — you have the right to complain to us, and we would rather fix it.

You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office, whether or not you come to us first.
